Treatment and Services
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin, sterile needles into the skin at specific points in the body.
These points lie along pathways called ‘meridians’. By stimulating these points, it corrects imbalances in the flow of our body’s energy or ‘qi’.
Research shows that acupuncture regulates blood flow and promotes the release of a variety of brain chemicals and neurotransmitters, such as endorphins and serotonin.
All of these various chemicals help to mediate pain, balance hormones, improve immune function, balance sleep/wake patterns and promote a general sense of well-being.
Most patients who receive acupuncture leave their treatments feeling relaxed and peaceful.
Chinese herbal medicine...
is an ancient system of health care that has evolved over thousands of years to include the treatment of modern day afflictions. Herbal formulas are a safe and effective way to treat a variety of complaints.
Formulas usually contain approximately four to twelve different herbs that have been naturally processed into pill form to provide an easy and convenient way to take them.
The herbal formulas we use are manufactured in a GMP and CIQ certified facility and contain
no pharmaceuticals, sugar, dyes, heavy metals or pesticides. They are 100% natural herbal formulas.
Fire cupping is an ancient Chinese medicine modality that involves the use of a flame quickly inserted into a glass cup that is then placed somewhere on the body to create suction. This mobilizes blood flow to promote healing.
Cupping is often used to treat muscle pain and stiffness, but is also very effective for cellulite treatments. Cupping will often leave marks on the skin ranging from pale pink to dark purple/red and usually lasts 1-3 days.
These marks are a part of the healing process and are not at all painful.
Gua Sha is a healing treatment that implements the use of a round edged object that is ‘scraped’ along the skin until a rash or ‘petechia’ appears.
This cutaneous stimulation moves blood
stagnation, which is considered pathogenic, and promotes normal blood flow and metabolic processes. Gua Sha is often used for pain and stiffness, but can be used to treat a variety of other complaints.
Heat therapy is applied by the use of a TDP mineral lamp.
This is a medical device, approved by the FDA, that features a plate coated with a mineral formation consisting of 33 essential elements to the human body. When activated, it emits waves that
penetrate deeply into the body. This stimulates microcirculation which delivers higher levels of oxygen and nutrients to injured
cells promoting faster healing.
This is very effective for muscle
pain and stiffness, arthritis, injuries and overall health. Electrical stimulation is the application of a gentle electrical current to acupuncture needles to provide further stimulation. It is a safe way to treat pain and many chronic conditions.
Moxibustion is a therapeutic modality implemented by burning an herb called mugwort over acupuncture needles or directly over the skin. It promotes the smooth flow of qi and blood and is generally used with for patients with pathogenic cold, dampness,
